Nicolas Musin
Nicolas Musin, Founder and Artistic Director

Trained in a thoroughly classical school, Nicolas Musin has never stopped seeking other forms of expression, convinced that the choreographic field reaches beyond dance. Multidisciplinarity lies at the heart of the way he builds his projects.

Born in Belgium, he began his career at the Paris Opera before joining the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and John Neumeier’s Hamburg Ballet as a principal soloist. At the same time, he created numerous choreographic works staged around the world.

In 2000, he founded his own company in Vienna, which he directed and toured for more than ten years, while pursuing collaborations in other creative fields such as fashion, design and architecture.

Based in Geneva, he collaborated with the Flux Laboratory and HEAD before cofounding La Compagnie Urbaine in 2014. The show ZUP, a first encounter between theatrical and public space with young urban artists and athletes, premiered in 2017 at the Plainpalais skatepark and led to new creations for the 2020 Lausanne Youth Olympic Games and the TNP Villeurbanne in 2021. He founded Urban Move Academy in September 2022 and created the show Ollie in December 2022.

Gábor Varga
Deputy Director, Head of Development and Touring

A dancer, choreographer and cultural producer of Hungarian origin, Gábor Varga settled in Geneva in 2009. Trained at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, he danced notably for Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Thomas Hauert and Gilles Jobin, and created with József Trefeli two works awarded the 2017 Swiss Dance Award. He then turned towards production, founding his touring office BravoBravo in 2016, and from 2021 to 2026 curated the performing arts programme of the Antigel Festival. He now joins the direction of Urban Move Academy.
